Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with state/federal regulations
- Process prescriptions through pharmacy management software and verify insurance coverage
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and conducting cycle counts
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve prescription discrepancies and clinical inquiries
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and adhere to USP 797 standards
- Train new technicians on pharmacy protocols and workflows
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer literacy and data entry accuracy
