Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify prescription information, including dosage, frequency, and patient allergies, to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Manage pharmacy inventory levels, track expiration dates, and process orders for pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist patients with medication questions and provide exceptional customer service at the counter.
- Process insurance claims and handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment in strict compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy software and computer systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license (if applicable).
