Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections following OSHA/JCAH standards
- Process and label specimens accurately with barcoding systems
- Operate laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Maintain sterile environments and proper specimen handling protocols
- Document patient data and test results in EMR systems
- Collaborate with healthcare teams for efficient patient flow
- Train new staff on phlebotomy best practices
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Experience with blood culture and special collection procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
