Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and gather required demographic data.
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims (ICD-10, CPT) to insurance payers.
- Perform follow-up on denied or unpaid claims and initiate appeals.
- Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts accurately.
- Maintain organized and confidential medical billing records and filing systems.
- Communicate professionally with patients to resolve billing inquiries.
- Assist in month-end reconciliation and reporting.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong typing and data entry speed and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on compliance.
- Professional communication style and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to obtain relevant certifications (training provided).
