Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and microcollection procedures with precision and care
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain of custody
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for analysis
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to OSHA safety protocols
- Operate automated blood collection equipment and troubleshoot issues
- Document patient information and specimen data accurately in EHR systems
- Provide patient education and ensure comfort during procedures
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in venipuncture
- BLS/CPR certification required (AHA preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling expertise
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Valid Kansas driver's license if required for mobile services
