Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens following CLIA/CAP protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Verify patient identities and prepare specimens for transport
- Document procedures using EMR systems with precision
- Provide patient education during collection processes
- Collaborate with lab staff for sample processing workflows
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 6 months clinical experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques
- OSHA and HIPAA compliance expertise
