Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all age groups with minimal discomfort.
- Ensure strict accuracy in patient identification, labeling, and specimen handling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized phlebotomy station in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate anxiety.
- Manage and track inventory of supplies and blood collection tubes.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and physicians to ensure timely specimen processing.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- Current State of California Phlebotomy license.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and transport patients or equipment as necessary.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
