Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays (panoramic, periapical, cephalometric).
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilize instruments according to OSHA standards.
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and materials for patient appointments.
- Manage patient records, update medical histories, and verify insurance information.
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Greet patients warmly, check them in, and ensure a comfortable waiting experience.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry practice preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
