Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for all procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and equipment management
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization processes
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a Level 1 trauma center
- BLS certification with current expiration date
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and general surgical specialties
- Ability to work high-pressure emergency cases
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ST79)
