Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patients' vital signs and document surgical information accurately
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and ensure proper sterilization protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to optimize surgical workflow efficiency
- Handle biohazardous materials and waste according to safety standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Valid BLS certification
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and on-call
