Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and track surgical supplies before, during, and after operations
- Apply sterile dressings and wound closures under physician direction
- Manage surgical equipment maintenance and inventory control
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and on-call shifts
