Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and track surgical supplies/instruments before and after procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and AORN standards
- Manage sterile processing and inventory of surgical equipment
- Provide post-operative equipment sterilization and room turnover
- Document procedural events in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years recent surgical tech experience in Level I trauma center
- Proficiency in orthopedic, general, and neurosurgical procedures
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work on-call shifts and overtime
