Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed
- Maintain strict sterile environments throughout all surgical cases
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure all items are accounted for
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms with safety and comfort in mind
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment following infection control standards
- Document procedures and patient information accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
