Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and ensure proper positioning
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless care delivery
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic technique
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and on-call
