Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is sterilized and ready for surgery.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and materials.
- Monitor patient vitals and maintain accurate records during operations.
- Handle specimens for pathology and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict infection control protocols.
- Assist with patient turnover and preparation before and after surgeries.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical tech program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients/mobility equipment as needed.
- Valid State of Ohio medical license or eligibility.
