Responsibilities
- Verify & Process Claims: Accurately verify patient insurance information and process medical claims to insurance carriers and government payers.
- Claim Management: Monitor claim status, follow up on denied or unpaid claims, and initiate necessary appeals.
- Patient Communication: Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing questions, statements, and payment plans.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain precise and up-to-date patient billing records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Revenue Cycle Support: Assist in the daily operations of the revenue cycle department to ensure timely collections.
- Compliance: Adhere to all healthcare compliance regulations and internal policies regarding privacy and billing standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or related field is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in data entry and number processing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn specialized billing software quickly.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and insurance representatives.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
