Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations to determine the acuity of medical conditions.
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize patient care needs and direct them to appropriate levels of service.
- Document all triage interactions, patient histories, and care plans accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and emergency department staff to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Provide expert guidance and education to patients and families regarding treatment options and home care instructions.
- Manage high-volume call queues while maintaining a calm, professional, and empathetic demeanor under pressure.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent nursing experience, preferably in an emergency room, urgent care, or telehealth setting.
- Advanced certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
- Strong proficiency in medical terminology and computerized charting systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, including active listening and the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
