Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize emergency cases using standardized triage protocols
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients to ensure timely care delivery
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding home care or emergency department arrival
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and resource allocation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Ohio RN license (or compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of ER or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- BSN degree preferred
