Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize acuity levels in emergency department triage
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Utilize EHR systems for accurate documentation and care coordination
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment protocols
- Monitor patient flow and communicate bed status to department leadership
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments
- Spanish bilingual preferred
