Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patients using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to prioritize care
- Conduct rapid telephonic and in-person triage for emergency department patients
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure timely patient flow
- Document assessments accurately in Epic EMR system
- Provide critical education to patients and families regarding emergency protocols
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Indiana (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in triage protocols and ESI implementation
- Exceptional communication and crisis management skills
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
