Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments to determine acuity level and prioritize care
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families regarding urgent medical needs
- Document clinical observations and interventions accurately in EMR systems
- Coordinate patient flow between emergency departments and specialty services
- Provide telephone triage for off-hour patient inquiries
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and emergency department protocols
- Mentor junior nursing staff during high-volume periods
Qualifications
- Active Nebraska RN license with minimum 2 years ER/urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Demonstrated proficiency in rapid assessment protocols
- Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Experience with Epic EMR systems preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
