Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on SOPs and regulatory compliance
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Process insurance claims and resolve patient billing inquiries
- Maintain sterile compounding areas and adhere to USP 797 guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Minnesota Pharmacy Technician license (PhT) required
- 2+ years retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and automated dispensing
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and medication safety awareness
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
