Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications while maintaining strict compliance with FDA and state regulations
- Lead inventory management including controlled substance tracking, ordering, and waste disposal procedures
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on compounding, sterile preparations, and workflow optimization
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve medication therapy issues and ensure patient safety
- Utilize advanced pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for inventory control and prescription processing
- Manage third-party insurance claims and prior authorization documentation
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications and chemotherapy preparations
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Pharmacy Technician License (PhT) in good standing
- 2+ years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required
- Proven expertise in sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
- Advanced knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team training and process improvement
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records systems
