Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions per Florida Board regulations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and compounding IV solutions
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical interventions and medication therapy management
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail and math accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-volume settings
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Basic knowledge of third-party insurance processing
