Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify orders
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for prescription clarifications
- Oversee pharmacy operations during manager absence
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- 2+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Rx30)
- Strong mathematical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding preferred
