Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify medications following strict protocols and regulatory standards
- Manage automated dispensing systems and maintain medication inventory with zero-error precision
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices and compliance procedures
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication distribution workflows
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all patient data handling and record-keeping
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for pharmacy operations
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 3 years of hospital or high-volume pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and USP 797 standards
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology or related field preferred
