Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with state and federal regulations
- Lead technician responsibilities including inventory management, ordering, and staff training
- Operate automated dispensing systems and maintain sterile compounding environments
- Collaborate with pharmacists on medication therapy management and patient counseling
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell) for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Coordinate with insurance providers and resolve billing complexities
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proven expertise in sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation
- Advanced proficiency with pharmacy management systems and automation
- Strong mathematical accuracy for dosing calculations
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Exceptional communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
