Responsibilities
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations and mentor junior technicians
- Verify prescription accuracy and compound sterile/non-sterile medications
- Manage inventory control including ordering, receiving, and waste disposal
- Train staff on new protocols and pharmacy software systems
- Ensure compliance with DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists on medication therapy management
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient confidentiality
- Implement quality improvement initiatives for dispensing accuracy
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and IV admixture
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Excellent attention to detail and error-prevention skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
