Responsibilities
- Manage daily pharmacy operations including prescription processing, inventory control, and compounding
- Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations (DEA, HIPAA)
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy management
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for dispensing and record-keeping
- Handle third-party billing and insurance verification processes
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
Qualifications
- Current Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license (PhT) required
- 2+ years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and medical terminology
- Experience with pharmacy automation systems and inventory management
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of sterile compounding guidelines (USP 797)
