Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain strict quality control protocols
- Manage inventory and equipment calibration for 15+ draw stations
- Collaborate with pathologists on specimen processing and error resolution
- Implement HIPAA-compliant documentation and specimen tracking systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of phlebotomy experience in a high-volume hospital setting
- ASCP or AMT certification required
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture access
- OSHA and CLIA compliance knowledge
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Experience with LIS systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic)
