Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on best practices and safety protocols
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA/CAP standards
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and infection control procedures
- Collaborate with lab technicians for specimen integrity
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 3 years clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proven expertise in difficult venipuncture techniques
- Strong leadership and training abilities
- Excellent communication and patient rapport skills
- Experience with LIS/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
