Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure surgical trays are assembled according to procedure specifications
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures, including orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular surgeries
- Maintain sterile fields and implement strict infection control protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize surgical workflow
- Train junior technicians on equipment handling and OR protocols
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Level 1 trauma or specialty surgical services
- BLS/CPR certification and current WI state license
- Expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EPIC preferred)
