Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments, ensuring strict adherence to infection control protocols
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular surgeries
- Manage surgical instrumentation and equipment with precision and efficiency
- Monitor inventory and order supplies to maintain optimal OR readiness
- Train junior staff on advanced surgical techniques and safety standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical workflows
- Document procedures accurately and maintain regulatory compliance records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Level I trauma center or specialty OR
- Expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical procedures
- Current BLS certification with ability to obtain ACLS within 90 days
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization validation
- Exceptional communication skills for high-pressure surgical environments
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong problem-solving skills during emergent surgical scenarios
