Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile equipment and verify patient identification protocols
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain electronic health records
- Provide patient education on blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen processing
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in blood culture and special collection techniques
- Exceptional communication skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and quality control
- High school diploma or equivalent with science coursework
