Responsibilities
- Assist in complex surgical procedures across specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular
- Maintain sterile environments and surgical instrumentation per AORN standards
- Train and mentor junior surgical tech staff on advanced techniques
- Coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists for optimal surgical workflow
- Manage inventory and sterilization of high-value surgical equipment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 5+ years of experience
- Completion of accredited surgical technology program
- BLS/CPR certification required; CNOR preferred
- Proven experience in scrubbing for major orthopedic/neuro cases
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
