Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for complex surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Mentor junior surgical techs and enforce safety protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 5 years of OR experience with specialty certifications
- Proven expertise in orthopedic, neuro, or cardiovascular procedures
- BLS/CPR certification and current state licensure
- Demonstrated leadership skills in sterile processing
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work high-pressure cases with minimal supervision
- Bachelor's degree in Surgical Technology preferred
