Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with precise instrument passing and hemostasis
- Train and mentor junior surgical techs on advanced techniques and safety protocols
- Inventory and manage high-value surgical implants and specialized equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless perioperative workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Level I trauma center OR
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and robotic-assisted surgeries
- BLS and ACLS certifications with current status
- Proven track record in sterile processing and instrument management
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team training
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
