Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive, empathetic phone assessments for patients presenting a variety of acute and chronic medical symptoms.
- Triage patient inquiries to determine the appropriate level of care, distinguishing between urgent, emergent, and non-urgent situations.
- Document patient encounters accurately, timely, and comprehensively in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide clear patient education, self-care instructions, and medication management guidance to promote recovery.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the wider care team to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Manage high-volume incoming calls with professionalism, de-escalating difficult situations while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Adhere to all company policies, HIPAA regulations, and clinical protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland (or active multi-state compact license).
- Minimum of 2-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year specifically in triage, telehealth, or urgent care.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong computer proficiency with proven experience navigating EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly to patients.
- High level of emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
