Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and patient information before dispensing medication.
- Prepare and label medications for dispensing according to legal and ethical standards.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist the Pharmacist with compounding sterile preparations and specialized medication orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries and educating patients on medication usage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment compliant with all safety regulations.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Pharmacy Technician diploma preferred.
- Current Texas State Pharmacy Technician License (or ability to obtain licensure).
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy software systems (e.g., Rx30, McKesson) and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical aptitude.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
