Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and patient information before dispensing medication.
  • Prepare and label medications for dispensing according to legal and ethical standards.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Assist the Pharmacist with compounding sterile preparations and specialized medication orders.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Pharmacy Technician diploma preferred.
  • Current Texas State Pharmacy Technician License (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy software systems (e.g., Rx30, McKesson) and medical terminology.
