Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring optimal sterility and equipment functionality
- Accurately document patient encounters in EMR systems with meticulous attention to detail
- Assist physicians with examinations, minor procedures, and patient education initiatives
- Coordinate patient flow, appointment scheduling, and communication between departments
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and assist with procurement processes
- Uphold HIPAA compliance and hospital safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) and MS Office Suite
- Current BLS certification and state-mandated immunizations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to de-escalate sensitive situations
- Strong organizational abilities with precise attention to clinical documentation
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure scenarios
