Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurements and documentation
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and treatments
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory procedures
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and medical documentation
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
- Provide patient education on treatment protocols and health maintenance
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in hospital or specialty setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to empathize with patients
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced oncology environment
