Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle phone triage
- Administer medications under provider supervision and perform lab testing
- Maintain exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and inventory medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and infection control
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
