Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with clinical procedures
- Administer medications and perform basic lab tests under physician supervision
- Manage electronic health records with precision and maintain HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments and handle patient registration with exceptional customer service
- Coordinate referrals and communicate effectively with specialists and insurance providers
- Maintain sterile exam environments and sterilize medical instruments
Qualifications
- Current Michigan Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and cultural competency for diverse patient populations
