Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and treatment plans in EHR systems
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests per protocols
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked
- Coordinate patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality standards
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Athenahealth preferred)
- CPR/BLS certification with ability to maintain
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Associate degree or certificate from accredited program
