Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in/check-out processes, update electronic health records (EHR), and schedule appointments accurately.
  • Clinical Support: Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and assist providers during exams.
  • Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, administer injections and immunizations, and perform phlebotomy as required.
  • Patient Communication: Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle choices; answer phone inquiries professionally.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and current certification (CMA, RMA, or CMA-A) required.
  • Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR software (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar) is a plus.
