Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify demographic information with accuracy.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with history taking and basic physical assessments.
- Perform vital sign measurements (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and EKGs as directed.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
- Maintain and organize medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Prepare and administer medications as per physician orders and state regulations.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary medical training a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
