Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations.
- Vitals & Admin: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and administer EKGs.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during exams and minor procedures.
- Inventory & Safety: Maintain exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and manage medical supply inventory.
- Charting: Update electronic health records (EHR) and complete necessary documentation promptly.
- Communication: Relay clear instructions to patients and collaborate effectively with the front desk team.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Licensure: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and/or ACLS certification.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive patient information with strict confidentiality.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant degree or diploma preferred.
