Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, prepare examination rooms, and ensure a sterile environment.
- Measure and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administer injections and perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws, following strict protocols.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Coordinate patient referrals, schedule follow-up appointments, and communicate effectively with insurance carriers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries and addressing concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty setting preferred.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus given our local demographics.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when assisting patients.
