Responsibilities

  • Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system accurately.
  • Vital Signs: Measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, height, and weight) prior to provider exams.
  • Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging instruments and supplies for providers during patient visits.
  • Injections & Admin: Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications as directed by physicians and following strict safety protocols.
  • Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood draws, as required by clinic protocols.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients regarding test results, prescriptions, and follow-up appointments.
  • Administrative Tasks: Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow to ensure minimal wait times.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and currently certified or certification eligible (CMA, RMA, or MA).
  • Licensure: Valid North Carolina Medical Assistant license required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is mandatory.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
