Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake, including medical history reviews and vital signs.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and maintain exam rooms in compliance with infection control standards.
- Draw blood and process laboratory specimens using proper phlebotomy techniques.
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by the provider.
- Coordinate patient appointments and manage incoming communications professionally.
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or registration (CMAA) is highly preferred.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification must be current.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a high-volume hospital setting.
- Proven ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
